Our Sunday snack
So at the Atlanta Botanical Garden they were doing this Insect Cooking thing and Barry and I decided to give it a try. It was mainly the chef talking about how good insects are for you and how much more protein they have than other meats and how they’re only one step away from crustaceans and how they are more ecologically friendly than cows and blah blah blah. And then he spent like two minutes cooking and gave out samples.
I tried the ground mealworm banana bread, which was pretty good. Since the worms were ground up you really couldn’t tell that they were there at all.
Barry and I both tried the crickets and grits, which looked disgusting, but tasted ok. The worst part though was picking the cricket bits out of my teeth afterwards. I only had one bite… that was all I could take.
Yeah, so… been there, done that, won’t be eating insects again unless I am in a life-threatening situation!
